Anything other than bankruptcy filing is, in my opinion, a SCAM. Chapter 7 bankruptcy allows you to list your debts, and obtain a court order discharging you of any obligation. Chapter 13 Bankruptcy debt repayment allows you to repay creditors with one lower payment you can afford. Anything else is a scam. Even attorneys offering "debt settlement" are often SCAMS. Don't fall for "debt settlement scams". What is a scam? Most "scams" are fraud involving money. Look it up: scam /skam/

A lot of SCAMS involve guilt, and desire for an "easy way out of my problem". Debt settlement is an example of a SCAM. Don't take it from me. Even the largest credit bureau, Experian, calls "debt settlement" a SCAM.
